10 Travel Photographers You NEED To Follow on Instagram

An image without an alt, whoops

Sometimes, it’s simply not enough to read about far-off destinations and crazy expeditions — you have to visualize them clearly enough to imagine yourself there in that precise experience.

When you ask yourself why you travel, perhaps it’s because you love the unexpected. You’re drawn to the energy in discovering the new, waking up in the morning and feeling like anything could happen. Never visiting the same place twice, travel is your counter to the consistent schedule that life provides. And if you ask yourself why you carry a camera, you’ll have a similar purpose: to notice the tiny details you wouldn’t be able to otherwise.

We’ve compiled a list of our favorite travel photographers to follow on Instagram. But, their work goes far beyond their feeds. They evoke a sense of immense talent that can only be soaked through everyday loyalty. Check out this list, listen to their podcasts and portfolios, and give them a follow.

Meagan Bourne

“Hi, I'm Meagan.

I'm a 24-year-old photographer based out of southern California and constantly traveling worldwide. I specialize in wedding photography, elopements, and adventure photography. In the past few years, I have travelled to 16 different states and 15 different countries. I've lived out of a suitcase for 2 months while traveling around Europe, jumped a moped while cruising through the streets of Bali (and definitely didn't land it), summited mountain peaks in the Swiss Alps, ate way too much food in Italy, and have captured photos for brands and couples in all of these amazing places.

I want to use my photography to capture and tell your story. I'm not your photographer if you are looking for posed, by the book, simple images. I am your photographer if you are looking for authentic, candid, creative images that will always bring you right back to when they were taken.”

Dylan Furst

Dylan Furst is a photographer from the Pacific Northwest, heavily inspired by the darker and rainy days that frequent his home in Bellingham, Washington State. By adapting to this environment, the imminent days of rain become a time of growth and creating. While travel plays a big part in his photography, his focus is mostly directed towards details in nature. He believes a simple shift in perspective can turn the smallest details into works of art, in destinations around the world and in your own backyard.

Benjamin Hardman

Benjamin’s fine-art works encapsulate the North’s most obscure landscapes – the barren, cold and volatile environments that are inhabited by colossal ice structures, carved volcanic mountains and resilient wildlife. Benjamin divides his time between a range of photographic assignments, guiding and solo exploration, whilst utilizing social media as a platform to share his experiences and perspectives on life and nature in the North.

Benjamin's specific works on glaciers aim to convey the fragility and transitory intricacies of glacial ice amidst the current period of accelerated retraction and a changing global climate.
